Abstract

|
The global epidemic of COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019), which began at the end of 2019, is currently in progress, and the largest number ofconfirmed cases in the Republic of Korea has been renewed day after day as of July 2021 due to COVID-19 virus variants. Vaccines have effectivelysuppressed many infectious diseases in human history, and the introduction and dissemination of vaccines are also essential for prevention andreduction of severity and death in COVID-19. This paper provides scientific information on the effectiveness and safety of the four types of COVID-19vaccine currently used in Korea. In addition, we would like to examine the considerations for the use of the COVID-19 vaccine in various targetgroups and situations encountered in the clinic.
